GATE 19

Gate 19 in Human Design is the Gate of Wanting, hexagram Approach, in the root center. It is the root end of the channel 19-49, which Ra Uru Hu said would break in 2027.

What is gate 19 in Human Design?

Gate 19 is a tribal pressure gate in the root. Through the channel 19-49, Synthesis, it pushes toward gate 49 in the solar plexus. Ra described its drive as closer to an imperative than a wish: secure a place, territory and essential resources, and find a partner to share that load. His running joke for people with an active 19 was to keep the fridge stocked even if they hardly ate at home. The lines go from Interdependence to The recluse.

Why is gate 19 tied to mammals?

Ra called the 19-49 a channel that crosses the species line: mammals can carry gate 19, never gate 49. In his reading this is the deepest tie between humans and mammals, from livestock and working animals to pets. He also placed the root of organized religion, as distinct from mysticism, in the 19 and its need to be supported in a shared belief.

What happens to gate 19 in 2027?

The 19 is the gate of approach, the way that assumes everything is interrelated. Ra taught that once the 19 no longer reaches the 49, that assumption stops holding: humans will relate to mammals, pets included, in a different way.

He also counted the 19 among the special gates of the Dream Rave and said the dream life of humanity would shift with the mutation. As a right angle cross, the 19 belongs to the Four Ways. The trigger itself, in his account, sits in gate 55; see 49-19 and Sleeping Phoenix.

THE MEMES

A painting of a man in a work jacket standing up to speak at a town meeting while seated neighbours look up at him. Label: me, a 49, announcing a fridge principle

Now, of course, what happens is that the 49 says, I have this principle.
