What is gate 49 in Human Design?

The 49 is a tribal gate on the ratcheting emotional wave of the solar plexus. It connects to gate 19 in the root through the channel 19-49, Synthesis, a design of sensitivity in the Ego circuit. Ra framed it as the gate that sets which principles a tribe lives by, and therefore the gate of acceptance and rejection, of marriage and divorce. Its lines run from The law of necessity to Attraction.

Why did Ra call it the gate of the butcher?

Ra taught that the 49 is the one human gate concerned specifically with killing: animals sacrificed so that others have resources. In a Rave Cosmology lecture he named the 19-49 the harvest and the slaughter, a channel of communal ritual, and said it is slowly decaying. He counted the entire food chain, farms, slaughterhouses, transport and shops, as a 19-49 process.

What happens to gate 49 in 2027?

Because the 49 shares the codon Histidine with gate 55, where the mutation starts, Ra said the pressure there reaches the 49 too. His teaching was that gate 19 will stop connecting to 49, and that this ends an old bond between humans and mammals, since mammals can carry the 19 but never the 49.
