GATE 34: POWER

What does Gate 34 mean in Human Design?

Ra Uru Hu taught that the 34 is unusual among the nine Sacral gates. The others each answer to one partner gate, while the 34 can supply three: the 57 in the Spleen, the 10 in the G Center, the 20 in the Throat. Integration has no motor of its own, so the 34 is its hidden engine.

He also called it asexual: its energy goes to survival and to perfecting form, not to reproduction. The old keynote says its strength only counts as great if it benefits everyone around it.

Why is the 20-34 called the only true Manifesting Generator?

The Channel of Charisma (20-34) is, in Ra's teaching, the single direct bridge between Sacral and Throat. Anyone with it is a pure Manifesting Generator; every other Manifesting Generator is a Generator with a manifesting option. Because 20 and 34 face each other on the wheel, the channel often appears through a Sun/Earth or nodal axis.

His image was a hamster on a treadmill that also drives everyone nearby: hard to steer, easiest to guide for a 43-23, and correct only when the doing comes out of Sacral response.

How does Gate 34 connect to the Sleeping Phoenix and 2027?

The 34 is a gate of the Sleeping Phoenix cross (20/34 | 55/59). In his lecture on this cross Ra described the constant busyness as a way of never stopping long enough to face mortality or the suspicion that it is all meaningless.

In the Global Cycles talk he taught that the Cross of Planning, running since 1615, gives way to the Sleeping Phoenix, an individual cross replacing a tribal one. The restless drive of the 20-34 is therefore part of the frequency of the coming cycle. More in Sleeping Phoenix and Gate 20.

What happens with Gate 34 in an undefined Sacral?

Ra said the open Sacral never knows when enough is enough. With a hanging 34 that shows up as power displayed at the wrong moment or not at all.
