What is Gate 40 in Human Design?

Its I Ching name is Deliverance. Ra Uru Hu called it the great gate of denial: a 40 answers no first, and that first no does not mean you cannot ask again. It loves work, but only for the reward and the recognition that come with it. Without that, the willpower simply is not offered.

Its first line, Recuperation, carries the whole theme: the capacity to rest and enjoy what the effort has earned.

What happens when Gate 40 meets Gate 37?

Together they make 37-40, the Channel of Community, "A Part seeking a Whole", in the Tribal Ego circuit between Heart and Solar Plexus. Ra stressed that a hanging 40 stays a gate of aloneness, while the completed channel becomes a life force of its own. He had the 40 without the 37 and said the community theme meant nothing to him.

The channel runs on agreements: you do your part, I do mine, and in return my contribution gets acknowledged.

How is Gate 40 part of the Cross of Planning?

With the personality Sun in 40 the Right Angle Cross of Planning reads 40/37 | 16/9. Ra taught that humanity has lived inside this cross as a global cycle since the early 1600s, and he credited the 40 with the long climb from slavery to wages, unions and paid rest.

What did Ra say about Gate 40 and 2027?

He said the Cross of Planning ends in 2027 together with a mutation of the emotional system. In the third of four stages of the solar plexus mutation, gate 6 passes the change into 37-40. Ra argued that the bargain exists only to hold an emotional wave steady, so beings without that wave would form community with no deal to negotiate.
