What does Gate 6 mean in Human Design?

Ra Uru Hu taught that the 6 is the source of the emotional motor: needs, desires and passions all arise from it, yet the 6 itself rarely shows emotion openly. Its feelings tend to surface through touch. He tied it to pH, a barrier that opens or closes: closed means conflict, open means intimacy and possibly reproduction.

Because it serves genetic diversity, the 6 is drawn to people unlike itself, which is also where the heaviest conditioning comes from. With a defined Solar Plexus the lesson is emotional clarity reached over time, never in the moment itself.

How does the 59-6 channel work?

The Channel of Mating (6-59) is keynoted as focused on reproduction. In his Eden lecture Ra put it plainly: the 59 is simply available and decides nothing; the 6 is where the choice of who to bond with is made. He considered most spontaneous bonding unaware, and said that the one thing worth taking time over is intimacy. The 6 also belongs to the Cross of Eden.

What happens to Gate 6 in the 2027 mutation?

In the 2027 Mutation Seminar Ra called stage two the death of desire. The mutated 59 acts on the 6, and only when the 6 changes can awareness spread through the entire Solar Plexus. The natural path from the 6 to its opposite, the 36, is cut, so the stream of desire running 41, 30, 36, 35 receives nothing of the mutation. Instead the 6 passes it on to the 37-40 in stage three and toward the 49 at the end.

On Tape 5A he said the result is intimacy without physical boundaries, a shared emotional awareness rather than contact, and admitted he had no picture of it. He called the 6 mystically the gate of the Builder.
